Featured Topic: Fast-tracking Young Talent
Many countries in Africa face the challenge of mobilizing the potential of talented young managers and moving them rapidly into key positions.
Often they are equipped with business degrees but lack essential experience not only in the technical methodologies of the business but also in most cases with life skills which in normal conditions may take years to develop.
Although recognizing the importance of filling key positions with young talented people, organisations are understandably reluctant to risk costly failure and alienation of employees by appointing inexperienced youngsters to key management positions..
Unfortunately this can lead to frustration on the part of these young talents who are likely look for greener pastures where they believe their potential will more adequately be recognized.
Our Solution
We believe that one way out of this dilemma is to create a programme to fast-track young managers in those critical skills needed to excel at leadership positions; we are talking about those skills which do not traditionally form part of most business degree curricula.
We offer organizations an opportunity to work with us in creating a tailored programme for up to 30 hand-picked young managers who will typically be required to be available together for one full day a month in which we will use an action coaching approach to deal with a particular topic. Then between these sessions, each individual will be required to be available for one-on-one coaching.
